Tri Nguyen-Quang, an assistant professor and researcher in Dal AC鈥檚 department of engineering, has been working on research that applies to biosystems, agricultural andenvironmental fields. His new biofluids and biosystems modeling lab was 听recently officially opened at Dal AC.
鈥淚 do a little different type of research. It鈥檚 observation of phenomenon, then I collect data and analyze 鈥� and predict phenomenon,鈥� said Nguyen-Quang, adding he uses mathematics and physical, mechanical and biological backgrounds to deal with the natural pattern in living organisms.
One of the many projects Nguyen-Quang is studying is the phenomenon of blue-green algae that changes the colour of entire bodies of water.
鈥淭he problem exists in Nova Scotia 鈥� some are toxic and some are not and some, we don鈥檛 know yet,鈥� said Nguyen-Quang, adding the problem is occurring in other places around the world.
