You鈥檒l learn to communicate better, work as part of a team, problem-solve, receive certifications, and possibly even find yourself along the way. But more than anything, this job gives you the opportunity to build genuine connections. You鈥檒l create lifelong memories and gain experiences that stay with you long after the job is over. These are things you just can鈥檛 learn in a classroom.
Sophia Russell (she/her)
RA (live-in) in Risley Hall and RA (nightshift) in LeMarchant Place
4th year Bachelor of Arts: Honours Major in Law, Justice & Society with a Minor in Environmental Science
What do I like about being an RA is I鈥檝e never known anything else like it. Each day is going to be different, the nights will never look the same, and your students will always have different experiences. To mitigate and navigate unique experiences as an RA has taught me how to think on my toes and expect the unexpected. I have never known a job so full of light and life and laughter, while also being so chaotic in the best of ways.
