Dr. Penny Corkum

Dr. Corkum is a Distinguished Research Professor and Registered Psychologist in the Departments of Psychology and Neuroscience, and Psychiatry at 17吃瓜网在线. She is also a member of the Scientific Staff at the IWK Health Centre. Her clinical research focuses on neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly ADHD, and pediatric sleep health.

Over the past decade, Dr. Corkum has led the development, evaluation, and implementation of eHealth, eLearning, and mobile app鈥揵ased interventions to support children鈥檚 sleep. She is the Principal Investigator of the Better Nights, Better Days pan-Canadian research team.

Her work has been funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Kids Brain Health Network, the Waterloo Foundation, SSHRC, NSHRF, 17吃瓜网在线, and the IWK Health Centre. She has authored more than 130 peer-reviewed publications and delivered over 260 presentations at national and international academic conferences, in addition to more than 175 clinical presentations. She has also supervised over 250 graduate students in child assessment and clinical training.

Her research has been widely published in leading journals in psychology, psychiatry, and sleep science. Building on this work, Dr. Corkum leads the Better Nights, Better Days Not-for-Profit organization, supporting the national dissemination and implementation of evidence-based sleep health programs for children and families. Through this initiative, she advances the translation of research into practice by scaling accessible digital interventions, strengthening capacity within clinical and community settings, and expanding the real-world impact of pediatric sleep science across Canada.
