Academic Supports

Accessibility and Accommodations

17³Ô¹ÏÍøÔÚÏß’s Student Accessibility Centre provides support to students that includes academic, exam, and campus accommodations designed to reduce barriers to learning and promote student success. It also provides information on accommodation types, accessibility-related workshops, financial assistance opportunities, and how students can connect with accessibility advisors for individualized support.

Bissett Student Success Centre

The Bissett Student Success Centre in Halifax offers academic advising to 1st and 2nd-year students in the Faculties of Science and Arts and Social Sciences. They also provides career advising, counselling, and services to all students. Appointments can be either in person or online.

Studying for Success

The Studying for Success team of tutors and coaches can help you reach your academic potential during your time at university. Our services and resources are for all students at 17³Ô¹ÏÍøÔÚÏß and King’s. They offer workshops, study coaching, and more.

Writing Support

The Writing Centre offers writing support to 17³Ô¹ÏÍøÔÚÏß and King's students in all undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. They offer daily drop-in sessions on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Cultural Supports

Black Student Advising Centre

The Black Student Advising Centre (BSAC) is a cultural hub of support, programs, events, and resources for students of African descent at 17³Ô¹ÏÍøÔÚÏß and the University of King’s College.

Indigenous Student Centre

17³Ô¹ÏÍøÔÚÏß's Indigenous Student Centre advisors provide support and advocacy for all Indigenous students. They welcome you to make use of their personal, educational, and career resources to enhance your university experience.

2SLGBTQ+ Advisor

The 2SLGBTQ+ Advisor (Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and any non-normative identities) supports students through 1-1 advising, group programming, and campus-wide educational events to create a student experience that is meaningful and facilitates a sense of belonging.

Spiritual Support

¶Ù²¹±ô³ó´Ç³Ü²õ¾±±ð Multifaith Services offers an open door to all 17³Ô¹ÏÍøÔÚÏß and King's students, staff, and faculty—no matter what your faith, philosophy, or doubt may be. We support the spiritual wellness of students and staff and the creation of safe space on campus.
