Yes. The School of Health Sciences requires all transcripts associated with your undergraduate studies.

When can I expect to hear from the school regarding the status of my application?

Prerequisite Requirements

Understanding your academic eligibility is an important part of preparing your application. This section explains prerequisite requirements and how your GPA will be assessed.

Specific prerequisite requirements vary by discipline. Please consult the specific program page that you wish to apply to for details:

Is there a minimum grade requirement for the prerequisite courses?

High school-level prerequisite courses must be completed with a minimum final grade of 70%, and an overall minimum average of 75%.

Post-secondary-level prerequisite courses must be completed with a minimum final grade of C, and an overall minimum GPA of 2.75 (on a 4.30 scale).

Due to the highly competitive nature of the BHSc program, meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission into the program.

I completed my prerequisite courses at the post-secondary level. Is this acceptable?

Yes. Please ensure that all transcripts are included in the application package.

How do I determine a course equivalency from another university?

To determine equivalent courses from other universities, please visit .

An official transfer credits evaluation can only be completed upon successful admission into the program.

Can I use one course to cover two different prerequisite courses?

No.

Can prerequisites be in progress at the time of application?

If you are currently completing prerequisite courses, we will keep your application open and continue to request updated grades, provided you submit proof of enrollment. Please note that we cannot confirm your academic eligibility until we have sufficient grades to assess. This typically means:

High School Applicants:

  • A mid-term grade, or
  • A grade 11 predictor grade, depending on the point in the admissions cycle

Post-Secondary Applicants:

  • A final grade from high school, or
  • A final grade from a post-secondary course equivalent to a grade 12 academic requirement, or a mid-term grade from upgrading

At a minimum, you must submit proof of enrollment in your prerequisites by the application deadline (February 15). Applicants who have not submitted proof by this date will not be considered eligible for a seat in the BHSc program.

How is GPA used in the admissions decisions?

Your GPA is used in the calculation of an overall admissions score. The admissions score is comprised of GPA and non-academic requirement outcomes at a ratio of 80:20 respectively.

How is GPA calculated?

Calculating the grade point average is done in two ways:

1. The Cumulative grade point average (CGPA) includes all courses attempted after admission to all accredited Universities and Colleges combined.  Changing degrees may impact how your CGPA is calculated.

2. Credit GPA includes the last 30 credit hours of courses attempted.

We will use whichever average is higher, to the advantage of the applicant

I鈥檓 a graduate student. Are my graduate level marks used in my GPA calculation for acceptance consideration?

We generally review only undergraduate courses for admission to the BHSc program. Some exceptions may be made for courses in Health-related programs and are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Can I improve my GPA for consideration into your program?

Yes, applicants may enroll in additional courses to increase their GPA to increase chance of admission in future years.

17吃瓜网在线's Faculty of Open Learning and Career Development offers numerous upgrading courses.

Will summer or distance education courses be counted in GPA?

Yes, as long as they are at the university level.

How do the non-academic requirements factor into my application score?

Assessment of non-academic performance accounts for 20% of the applicant's overall total score.

The letter of intent and resume will be scored out of 10% each, accounting for the overall 20% for non-academic performance.

All supplementary information should be attached to the Application Portal.
